Vergen shutdown.
The MOI has finally caught up with the business masterminds behind Vergen-Kuwait. Some of the reasons listed; distribution and publishing of illegal materials and the renting of store location without licensing, among other cryptic rules.
I am not the biggest fan of Vergen-Megastore; due to their extreme price gouging, inability to spell and the ever growing prostitution of the remaining store space.
However, like it or not, Vergen is still one of the pillars of Marina Mall. This country (and its countless malls) are in need of a decent Media superstore. As I mentioned in my post about the Avenues .. the mall feels dead without the presence of a Borders, Barnes and Noble or even That Elsalsil.
To the people at the MOI .. enough with the censorship. People can watch movies on their satellites, read books online and buy anything else in Hawalli. You are just pushing the general public to other forms of pirated of illegal media (which can’t be controlled).
That is getting out of hand! They are just doing this to have something on the books! Saying they did something! I bet they didn’t even know what to look for! Just sad!!

I am more likely to read a book banned by the MOI than not; just for the understanding of what content I am not supposed to read. Once word gets out which book/movie caused the commotion .. more people will eventually read it (than would have in the first place). With the current trend of media anything is accessible; banning items only makes them even more desirable.

I was looking for clear reasons for closing it. I know they were selling books from under the table, and I really have had it with rented booths, the store is no longer Virgin store but a place for rent.
Its back on track now.
Virgin always had people from the MOI, I used to work there when it first opened, MOI people used to come-in a lot and check for illegal materials, taking CD’s and books away and checking for Visa Status of Staff randomly. They used to be harsh and so strict on silly things, one of them once told us, they r people in the Ministry who are personally against Virgin and the people behind the business, so it will remain like that until they shut it down.

1. I suggest you read the sentence again before making comments about punctuation.
2. Also, Please use complete sentences when inferring that you have superior language skills.
3. Finally, I am an Arab and English is my second language; and I am quite sure my proficiency in my ‘other language’ is stronger than your only language.
