Al-WatanTV shoot.
I was at Marina Mall on Friday on the set of Al-Watan TVs’ intro sequence. They blocked off the road next to Marina between the traffic lights to record a car chase scene. The video will be used as a introduction commercial to be played on the new television channel. Al-Watan went all out to put together a strong team of Directors, Producers and Cameramen.
The production team was top notch, headed by a Kuwaiti Director, Zeyad Al-Huessieni. The film crew was composed of French and Kuwaiti Cameramen; equipped with Mini-Helicopter Cameras that flew behind the cars. The stunts were done by local Kuwaitis and coordinated by the Stunt Driver from Fast and the Furious. I have a higher level of respect for car chase sequences and stunts after watching the guys practice; they were there from 3am until 10.30am for a 20second clip.
The people from GulfRun were in several of the cars and bikes taking part in the shoot. After the first scene was finished recording; we decided to make use of the closed open road and staged a couple of drag races. It felt pretty weird to have the cops clearing the road for a race.

Excellent. Can’t wait to see how it turns out! Zeyad Al-Huessieni has done some cool stuff with Caviar (agency in Kuwait) and his 2003 release of Just Like You Imagined.

I wonder if those drivers were the ones I see on the 306 Wafra road on a wet evening if I’m late leaving the office…. Probably not. The pro’s are Stunt Drivers, wheras the ones I see only rhyme with “stunt”.
