I was reading Mama Fuslas’ blog on the useless pepsi ads (da da da); and I had to find out what it means.

What did I find out?

1. The song is by a german group called Trio, and VW used it in 1997 (and did a much better job).

2. The Original Elissa/Christina song doesnt have Elissa in it, they edited it to bits. Which I knew beforehand; the editing on the Amr Diab Pepsi commercials with beyonce were so bad it was dead obvious. Also, beginning to question the Haifa Pepsi commercial (even if they do touch hands!).The Haifa one is fake edited too; this is the original with a much hotter Claudia Schiffer.

update:

I guess pepsi-middle east takes the american version of the commercials and edits in arabic musicians. Which I think is a great idea. However, some of these commercials are a joke. Having Elissa saying ‘I don’t love you, you don’t love in me’ standing beside a edited version is not the best way to approach this. Since it is intended for the Middle East, make a Middle-Eastern version (arabic music perhaps) commercial (since creating a completely new one is not within their capabilities). The ones we are getting now are of american stars, with amr diab drinking a pepsi in the corner. The second issue I have with the commercials is how fake they come off, the new batch are quite good (I will give them that). However, the Amr Diab ones were a complete joke.
Here are the original/ME version of the pepsi commercials; if you find any .. leave a comment.

Elissa / Christina: Original / Middle East
Elissa / Christina / Amr Diab (?): Original / Middle East
(Notice how the arabic part is removed from the middle east version)

Haifa / Theirry:
Original / Middle East
Amr Diab / Jennifer Lopez / Beyonce: Original / Middle East / Middle East 2
Amr Diab / Beyonce / Pink / Britney Spears: Original / Middle East

    Hello,

I’m guessing you’s a young’un, if you had to look up the origin of that song;)

It came out in the mid-80’s, when i was about 13, during the advent of the Casio SK1 piano (same one Ross from Friends had in highschool) , and yes, it is performed by a German group. They atually used the SK1 for the beat of their song.

i found this complete commercial of christina without elissa. but still u get to see a shadow of a lady sitting at the back in the last frame. i think that could have been intentional, maybe they already had in mind to edit it to the ME region sooner or later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBQYTxwssCg&mode=related&search=
