Nokia 770 review.
I haven’t written that many ‘reviews’ so bear with me. If you expect the whole 4/5 stars thing… you came to the wrong place.
Hardware:
The 770 is a great size, it seems a bit bulky .. however, it’s small enough to fit it into your pocket. It’s also large enough that you don’t feel the screen is limiting. I can view web pages at full resolution and zoom in for the hard to read stuff. The case is sturdy and it has all the connections (Headphone/USB/Power) on the bottom. It uses the ‘new’ Nokia charger which is half the size of the old one (every home in Kuwait has at least 6 of the old chargers); you can get a small adapter to use the old chargers. The screen is bright and the buttons are easy to use. The pen fits nicely into the side and locks into place with the cover on, it isn’t likely to fall out like other PDAs.
Software:
The software is crap.
There .. I said it. It’s buggy, slow and doesn’t have the standard line of software included with comparable devices (No Calendar/Contacts/etc). You have a ‘desktop’ of sorts, but you can’t add anything to it and are limited to four objects, two of which are useless (link to Nokia). The email software is lacking to say the least. The connection manager has issues with secured wireless networks. The web browser doesn’t support flash. I could go on and on. However, all that doesn’t matter because… it runs Linux!
What that means to you?
Its running on open source software, You don’t like the operating system? Make your own (Or wait until some programming genius with tons of free time does). The software is limited? Port/write the software you want your device (Or again, wait for the genius).
Should you get it?
If you’re the type of person that likes to try out new devices/technology (read: adopter), love using Linux or want a mini-pc for surfing/checking rss/emailing go for it.
Jackie/Swair: Yes, it does work in Coffee Bean.
Post a comment if you have any questions.

LOOOOL
My best line in this entire post is when you referred to me and Swair hehe or I should say Swair and I LOL! That was hilairous
LOL But my Powerbook goes with me everywhere and I so love it!
I don’t see myself getting anything else new :r Too many gadgets.
Interesting! I wonder what Nibaq thinks about the 770 in comparison to his Ericson!
I wouldnt compare them directly .. two totally different devices. The 770 is not a phone, it doesnt have any phone features whatsoever. The screen is clearer/larger than the Sony Ericcson, the menu is easier to use, and it has wifi.
yay it works in coffee bean :p
